Chemonics seeks multiple technical specialists for USAID's anticipated multi-year, private sector health service delivery initiative. This initiative assists the Benin government and private health sector partners at the district level to improve citizens' health, focusing on reducing maternal, newborn, and child morbidity and mortality. The overall objectives will be to improve the coverage of high-quality, high-impact health services delivered via for-profit and non-profit health facilities nationwide to end preventable deaths among vulnerable populations.
We are seeking technical specialists in the following areas: private health sector engagement, finance and operations, project management, health policy, health systems capacity development, business development, quality of care improvement, health systems strengthening, and human resources management. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide technical input on project implementation to achieve health targets and goals
- Ensure that all project assistance is technically sound and appropriate for the local context
- Write and contribute to reports and other deliverables
- Liaise with the Benin government, stakeholders, and public and private sector counterparts
- Collaboratively implement a strategic, long-term programmatic vision
Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a relevant discipline preferred
- Minimum three to eight years of development experience designing, implementing, and managing USAID or other donor-funded development programs
- Minimum three years of experience in West Africa required; experience in Benin preferred
- Strong ability and desire to work collaboratively with the Benin government, international donors, and local partners to achieve program targets
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate technologies
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation, data collection and management, and knowledge sharing
- Demonstrated interest in building the capacity of local partners
- Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
- Fluent French and English required
